A deposit of £100 is required to hold your cottage reservation. Please make your cheque payable to Dr James Weir. It can be posted to his attention to: Glenlora Cottage, Lochwinnoch, PA12 4DN.

Yes, we do accept pets at the cottages. However, we do request that you contact us directly so that this can be arranged and noted prior to your arrival.

Yes, bedding is provided for all beds at the cottages, including seasonal bedding for warm and cold weather. You are more than welcome to bring your own bedding or favourite pillow if that will make your stay all the more comfortable.

The local shop is located one mile away from the cottages in the village of Boat. Additionally, a supermarket is five miles away in Aviemore.

The closest restaurants are located in the village of Boat, which is one mile away from the cottages. A wider selection of restaurants can be found in Aviemore and the surrounding towns and villages.

There is much to see and do in the local and surrounding areas. There is a local park in Boat, which is one mile away, as well as an activity centre in Carrbridge, three miles from the cottages. Also located in Boat are a steam train and a nearby golf course, approximately two miles away. Osprey viewing can be found three miles away at Loch Garten at the RSPB visitor’s centre. Winter skiing can be found at the Aviemore Mountain Resort, which is about a thirty-minute drive away, and at Lecht, which is less than an hour’s drive.

While there are many legends and folklore in the Scottish Highlands, the only known nearest potential monster that you may come face-to-face with is a mere 25 miles in the distance somewhere in the deepest reaches of Loch Ness. However, if you do find her, it is not recommended that you invite “Nessie” back to the cottages. She would not fall under the category of acceptable pets.
